A One-Step Way to Synthetic Structural Color

In their latest work published on Soft Matter, researchers from the Soft and Living Materials group have shown how to produce synthetic structural color in one step thanks to phase-separation in the solid state.

A One-Step Way to Synthetic Structural Color

In this work, the researchers developed a self-limiting approach to polymerization-induced phase separation to obtain structural color in polymeric materials of any shape and size. This research was carried out in collaboration with Empa, and with contributions from researchers from ETH, PSI, Yale and Yale-NUS.
