Prof. Dr. Joachim Meissner, 1929-2011
Prof. Dr. Joachim Meissner died on January 7, 2011 in his 82nd year. He was elected in 1974 as full professor of Polymer Physics at ETH Zurich and was active in this sector until his retirement in 1996.
During his tenure, he was several times the head of the Institue of Polymers and was member of the commission to establish a study program for "Material Engineer". From 1991, he was heavily involved as a student counselor of the Department of Materials (IIID). Joachim Meissner's interest was the experimental rheology of polymer melts, whose unusual flow behavior fascinated him since 1958. Download Todesanzeig (German) (PDF, 359 KB)
