Science in Perspective
The Science in Perspective courses are meant to help students think critically about contemporary techno-scientific knowledge from various social, historical and cultural perspectives.
Science in Perspective (SiP) courses are humanities, social sciences and law courses that reflect on the STEM subjects that form the core of ETH's mission. The programme also includes courses that are aimed at expanding the students' cultural horizons (language courses and a few other special courses).
All SiP courses can be found in the course catalogue of ETH Zurich (search for "Science in Perspective" under "Structure - Programme"). It is also possible to search for the language of instruction. Please note that no more than 3 ECTS of language courses can be included for Bachelor and Master studies combined. Only those language courses listed under Science in Perspective are recognized (e.g., not all of the English courses).
For the completion of the Master's degree programme in Materials students must acquire at least 6 ECTS (valid for students starting in HS 2022 or before), respectively 4 ECTS (valid for students starting in HS 2023 or after) in the SiP programme.
