Master Projects
As part of the Master's degree studies, students need to carry out an individual 8-week research project. During this time the students support the work of a research group at ETH Zurich, thereby enhancing their knowledge and skills.
The research projects of the Master's degree programme in Materials last 8 weeks or 40 working days. If the project is carried out part-time during the semester (e.g. due to lectures) the duration is extended in a way that the total working time amounts to 40 working days. A Master project is awarded with 12 credit points.
Master projects are usually supervised by a professor of the Department of Materials or another materials-related research group at ETH Zurich (list of research groups working in Materials and Processes). Master projects are not graded and are usually completed with a written report and/or oral presentation.
Please register for the projects on myStudies. If you cannot select your supervisor, contact the D-MATL study administration. Do not forget to hand in the additional Download registration form (PDF, 867 KB) at the D-MATL study administration as well.
