Carla Fernandez-Rico has been awarded the SNSF Group Leader Ambizione Fellowship to start her independent research within the Complex Materials' group.
The grant-winning proposal of Dr. Carla Fernandez-Rico aims to develop hierarchical and sustainable materials fabricated by bacteria using soft matter physics and material science concepts.
The external page SNSF Ambizione Fellowships are highly prestigious grants aimed at supporting early career researchers who wish to conduct, manage and lead an independent project at a Swiss higher education institution. An Ambizione grant covers the grantee's salary, a PhD salary and the funds needed to carry out the project.
